A Parisian Stay in Opéra

When is there a better time to be whisked off to Paris for a quick getaway than over the festive season? The food, the wine, the lights and did I mention the wine?

Boxing day morning commenced with a Prosecco filled Eurostar  journey straight to Gare du Nord.

Our home for the next couple of days was the lovely boutique hotel Maison Favart in the beautiful Opéra region of Paris.

Academie Nationale De Musique

Opéra, a region known by Parisian night-owls for its numerous  restaurants, clubs, bars and theatres as well as its daytime shopping destination at Galeries Lafayette, proved quite the beautiful setting for a romantic getaway.

The bustling Opera region

The boutique hotel was not only the perfect location to discover the city, but was also the ideal place to come back to and unwind with its daily complimentary tea and cake and honesty bar.

As well as its in-house spa which was thoroughly enjoyable after a day of treading the Parisian cobbled streets.

Nearby restaurants were in abundance and the decision to actually pick one every evening became increasingly difficult.

But luckily we soon found our favourite restaurant called Au Rocher de Cancale, with great food and even better wine.

There was only one place where the food topped this, and that was the renowned patisserie Angelina, the 114 year old tea room which has salons placed all over the city.

Where choosing which mid-day sweet treat was the most difficult decision of the day.

Where the hot chocolate which is literally just melted chocolate.
Chocolate overload.

Where you may have over indulged but it was worth every mouth-full, and made you feel that little bit more intertwined in the culture of Paris.

Tell me your favourite Parisian eatery.
